sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
hdc – half double crochet
inc – increase
dec – decrease
sl st – slip stitch
BLO – back loop only
(…) – number of stitches you should have at the end of the row
*…* 2 times – repeat whatever is between the asterisks the given number of times
