Sleepy baby bear amigurumi

Try this free amigurumi pattern and learn how to crochet sleepy baby bear as a perfect gift for little kids. The finished amigurumi bear is about 15-16 cm (6″) tall, if you use the same yarn and hook. The legs, body and head are made as one piece. Skill level of the pattern is easy to medium.

You will need:

  • Sport yarn: nude beige (Alize Cotton Gold #401), multicolor (Alize Sekerim Batik #2132), white (Yarnart Jeans #62)
  • 2.0 mm crochet hook
  • Black thread to embroider the eyes and the muzzle
  • Thin white thread for sewing the muzzle
  • Stuffing (polyester fiberfill)

Abbreviations:
R – row
ch – chain
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
tr – treble crochet
inc – increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dec – decrease (2 sc together)
[…] – number of stitches you should have at the end of the row
(…) – repeat whatever is between the brackets the given number of times

Arms (make 2)
Start crocheting with the beige yarn:
R 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
R 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
R 3: (3 sc, inc) repeat 3 times [15]
R 4-5: 15 sc (2 rows)
R 6: (3 sc, dec) repeat 3 times [12]
Change the yarn to multicolor:
R 7-14: 12 sc (8 rows)
R 15: (4 sc, dec) repeat 2 times [10]
R 16: 10 sc
R 17: 3 sc, fold the arm in half and crochet 5 sc through both sides.
Stuff only 2/3 of the arm.
Fasten off and cut the yarn, leaving a tail for sewing.
Sew the arms to the body in R 20.

Make sure that the head is stuffed firmly.
Close the opening and hide yarn inside.

Muzzle
Crochet with the white yarn:

Don’t stuff.

Make 2 sl st, fasten off and cut the yarn.
Using a thin white thread, sew the muzzle to the head in R 3-7.

Using the black thread embroider the nose on the muzzle.
Embroider the sleeping eyes in R 7.
Embroider the eyebrows in R 12.
Paint the cheeks with a pink blush.

Ears and tail
Crochet with the beige yarn:
R 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
R 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
R 3: (sc, inc) repeat 6 times [18]
R 4: 18 sc
R 5: (sc, dec) repeat 6 times [12]
Make a sl st, fasten off and cut the yarn, leaving a tail for sewing.

Crochet this way two ears and one tail.

Don’t stuff the ears, sew them on the head in R 12-16.
Stuff the tail lightly. Sew it on the back in R 4-6.

Sleepy bear free crochet pattern

Ribbon
Crochet with the multicolor yarn:
Make a magic ring and crochet in it:
(3 ch, 3 tr, 3 ch, sl st) repeat 2 times
Tighten the magic ring, fasten off and cut the yarn leaving a tail for sewing.

Wrap the yarn around the ribbon a few times.
Make a knot.
Sew the ribbon to the head, near one of the ears.
