Crochet Psyduck free amigurumi pattern

Try this free amigurumi pattern to make the Psyduck! The Psyduck is a character in pokemon. He has a flat bill and also has three black hairs on top of its head. The finished size of your crochet toy will depend on what yarn is used.

Abbreviations:
R – row
ch – chain
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
inc – increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dec – decrease (2 sc together)
[…] – number of stitches you should have at the end of the row
(…) – repeat whatever is between the brackets the given number of times

Head
With yellow yarn:
R 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
R 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
R 3: (1 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [18]
R 4: (1 sc, inc, 1 sc) repeat 6 times [24]
R 5: (3 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [30]
R 6: (2 sc, inc, 2 sc) repeat 6 times [36]
R 7-12: 36 sc (6 rows)
R 13: (2 sc, dec, 2 sc) repeat 6 times [30]
R 14: (3 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [24]
R 15: (1 sc, dec, 1 sc) repeat 6 times [18]
Sl st to next stitch and fasten off.
Insert safety eyes between R 10 and R 11, 8 stitches between.

Body
With yellow yarn:

Beak
With light yellow yarn:

Sl st to next stitch, fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Lightly stuff only the end of the beak.

Feet (make 2)
With light yellow yarn:
The feet are worked in 3 steps, each step is a toe, do not turn or cut your yarn inbetween steps.
Step 1: ch 5, starting in 2nd chain from hook: 2 sl st, leave 2 chains unworked.
Step 2: ch 3, starting in 2nd ch from hook: 2 sl st,
Step 3: ch 3, starting in 2nd ch from hook: 2 sl st, then in the remaining 2 chains from the first step: 1 sc, 1 sl st.
You should now have a foot with 3 toes!

Hair
With black yarn:
This is worked in the same way as the feet.
Step 1: ch 4, starting in 2nd ch from hook: 3 sl st
Step 2: ch 4, starting in 2nd ch from hook: 3 sl st
Step 3: ch 4, starting in 2nd ch from hook: 3 sl st, finish the hair by making 1 sl st in the first ch from Step 1 (this connects the base of the hair).
Leave a tail for sewing to the head.

Assembly

1. Stuff the body and the head, sew the head to the body using the tail from the body.
2. Sew the arms onto R 10 of the body, on either side of the body. See the photo for reference. Angle the arms up so they touch the face.
3. Sew the feet to the bottom of the body on either side of round with the toes facing forward.
4. Fold the beak in half and sew on R 11 and R 12 of the head in the middle of the eyes.
5. Sew the hair on the very top of the head on R 1.
