You will need:
- YarnArt Jeans yarn (55% cotton, 45% acrylic, 50 g/160 m)
- 2.0 mm and 2.5 mm crochet hook
- 5-6 mm safety eyes
- Black embroidery floss for a mouth
- Pastel pink pencil or blush
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Fiberfill

Abbreviations:
R – row
ch – chan
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
tr – treble crochet
inc – increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dec – decrease (2 sc together)
[…] – number of stitches you should have at the end of the row
(…) repeat 6 times – repeal the instruction within the parentheses 5 times
Head and body (one piece)
With 2.5 mm crochet hook:
R 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
R 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
R 3: (inc, 1 sc) repeat 6 times [18]
R 4: (inc, 2 sc) repeat 6 times [24]
R 5-9: 24 sc (5 rows)
R 10: (dec, 2 sc) repeat 6 times [18]
R 11-14: 18 sc (4 rows)
R 15: (dec, 1 sc) repeat 6 times [12]
R 16: (dec) repeat 6 times [6]
Fasten off.
Paws (make 4)
With 2.5 mm crochet hook:
R 1: 4 sc in magic ring [4]
R 2: 4 sc
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
Ears (make 2)
With 2.5 mm crochet hook:
In magic ring: 1 sc, 3 dc, 1 tr, 3 dc, 1 sc.
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
Wings (make 2)
With YarnArt Jeans yarn separated into 2 parts (2 threads in each one) and 2.0 mm crochet hook:
R 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
R 2: (inc, 1 sc) repeat 3 times [9]
R 3: (inc, 2 sc) repeat 3 times [12]
R 4: (inc, 3 sc) repeat 3 times [15]
R 5: (inc, 4 sc) repeat 3 times [18]
R 6: Fold the top opening flat and work through both sides: 2 ch, (3 dc in one stitch, sl st) repeat 4 times.
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
Place the eyes below the middle of the head and the mouth between the eyes, this will make the bat look cuter.
Sew the details together. Tint the inside of the ear and cheeks using a pink pencil or blush.
